Okay, I made Misty a heart-shaped cookie. I’m not sure why. I mean, I know she has her sights set on Shay. I know that. And I’m not trying to keep them apart—her and Shay. I’m really not.

Actually, they’re a cute together. I hate admitting that—big time. But it’s true. They’re always giving each other tiny peeks—like their world wouldn’t be complete without each other. It’s cute. Especially because they don’t even kiss—ever—they just seem to enjoy breathing the same air or whatever.

But then, today at lunch I saw them having some sort of fight—or maybe not a fight. But it had Misty frowning big time. (And the girl hardly ever frowns.) She looked so sad it made my heart kind of drop and get twisted up. I’m not exactly sure why she’s able to do that to me—get my heart pounding so hard. And make me care so much. Too much for my comfort. I mean, what exactly is happening to me? Getting all bent for a romantically-confused girl that blushes if I just look at her. (Okay, it’s adorable. Man, it really is.)

But it’s crazy. Crazy to care so much about her, since she’s into Shay, so she won’t be mine. Which bites, because man, I’d like to have her. It’s like my top fantasy.

Whatever. I shouldn’t think about that stuff. Because she wants Shay—and I’ll help her get what she wants. ‘Cause my heart can’t take seeing her frown. It really can’t. Seeing her today frowning in the cafeteria about Shay, it tore up my heart. And made me want to cheer her up.

So, yeah, I made her a heart-shaped cookie.

Sue me.

I’m soft for the confused girl. I admit it.
